Continuing Education Credits

Earn Continuing Education Credit (CEC) by Attending NWI Programs
Individuals may earn continuing education credit for certifications they currently hold by completing NWI educational programs and submitting the program evaluation or CEC Request Form. See the Course & Event Calendar for a full list of upcoming programs.
The CEC Chart includes the annual National Wellness Conference, indicating the number and type of CECs available for each session. For more information about earning continuing education credit through NWI, please contact NWI.
Approved Continuing Education Provider
The National Wellness Institute is designated as an approved provider of continuing education by the organizations listed below. Participants may also elect to receive a general certificate of participation, indicating the number of National Wellness Institute-verified contact hours earned through their participation in an NWI educational program, to submit to certifying bodies not listed here. Acceptance of general CECs is at the discretion of the certifying body.

ACSM: The American College of Sports Medicine’s Professional Education Committee certifies that “National Wellness Institute” meets the criteria for official ACSM Approved Provider status from (December 2021 – December 2024). Approved Providers and their content reflect the concepts of their respective organizations and do not necessarily represent the positions or policies of ACSM. Providership # 661228.

HRCI®: The National Wellness Institute is a recognized provider of recertification credits. HR Certification Institute® (HRCI®) has pre-approved select NWI programs [with start dates between 4/30/2020 and 4/30/2021 for HR (General) credit towards aPHR™, aPHRi™, PHR®, PHRca®, SPHR®, GPHR®, PHRi™ and SPHRi™ recertification.

NBHWC: The National Wellness Institute has been approved by the National Board for Health & Wellness Coaching for the continuing education and training of National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coaches (NBC-HWC) for programs offered through February 28, 2022.

NCHEC (CHES®/MCHES®): National Wellness Institute is designated a provider of Category I continuing education contact hours (CECH) in health education by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc. Note: Only select NWI educational programs and select National Wellness Conference sessions are approved for advanced-level CECH or for Continuing Competency (CC) CECH. Provider ID#:100859

NWI CWP: National Wellness Institute Certified Wellness Practitioners (CWP) may earn NWI Category 1 CECs through participation in NWI educational programs and programs offered by NWI Pre-approved Providers.
