REIMAGINE YOUR COACHING PRACTICE

Health and Wellness Coaching in a New Era

Reimagine Yourself and Your Practice

The National Wellness Institute has collaborated with representatives from the International Coach Federation, National Board for Health & Wellness Coaching, and the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point to develop an intensive workshop for health and wellness coaches of all experience levels.

This highly interactive virtual workshop presents aspiring and established health and wellness coaches with tools and resources to reimagine their coaching practice. The new ideas and techniques experienced will benefit both the coach and their clients.

What will this workshop explore?

Honoring the Past and Yourself (But Being Open to Realignment)

We begin with a self-coaching exercise to help coaches tap into their own experiences and inner wisdom to (re)discover their niche and align their coaching practice with their core values. Additional exercises and the NWI Multicultural Wellness Wheel will be introduced to help participants recognize their own implicit biases and more effectively engage with clients’ whose experiences and worldviews are different from their own.

Being Present, and Resilient

To best help others, we must first help ourselves. Attendees will learn—and experience—self-care techniques to enhance their own wellness and resilience, and to prevent burnout and compassion fatigue. We will also explore ways to help clients shift from compliance to adherence and to prevent and manage chronic diseases. Coaches will return to work feeling rejuvenated and equipped with new techniques to share with their clients.

Focusing on the Future

During this panel discussion, we will explore current advancements, opportunities, and challenges in the field of health and wellness coaching, such as:

  • the impact of COVID-19 on health and wellness coaching
  • CPT codes/reimbursement for health and wellness coaching
  • diversity, inclusion, and multicultural competency
  • digital communication tools and social media
  • ethical and technical considerations for virtual coaching
Developing a Vision

Participants will wrap up by creating a personal roadmap to reimagine and evolve their health and wellness coaching practice. Examination of the exercises and information presented during the workshop and sharing of additional resources provide a foundation to help coaches to not only set clear professional development, wellness, and business goals, but also to begin to build community.

Learning Objectives

Following this program, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify ways to align their coaching practice with their core values.
  2. Use self-care techniques to increase their resilience and prevent burnout.
  3. Describe current advancements or challenges in the field of health and wellness coaching.
